P90X – Week 2
Another awesome update on my review of P90X.
P90X week in review
The week started off kind of rough, as we were informed at work that we’d begin 10 hour days. That put a damper on Monday. Tuesday was Plyometrics (see section below). I had a meeting that evening at church, so I was only able to get 30 minutes of the workout in.
That last sentence is key-Having to cut the session short was a disappointment, but it was far better than the option of not doing it at all. While it was only 30 minutes, it was an intense 30.
I pushed super hard on Wednesday’s Shoulders & Arms workout. The weights were upped as much as I could handle on every exercise. That is the key with any workout program. Always push yourself to be better, and more intense. That is where progress is made.
Yoga went much better this week. I’m still getting the hang of it, and made it 2/3 of the way through before I had to stop. It’s an improvement over last week. Next week I will do all 90 minutes!
Plyometrics
Plyometrics is jump training. Tony Horton, the creator of P90X, claims that this is the mother of all P90X workouts. If you compete in any kind of sport, this one is going to improve your mobility and explosiveness.
Every single exercise in this workout involves getting your feet off of the ground. There is an emphasis on being “cat like”-very soft on take off and landing.
Obviously, if you have any kind of knee or ankle issues, you’ll want to take it easy. The option of just barely getting the feet off of the ground is always there.
This workout, more than the others that I’ve done in the last two weeks, will make you sweat. The only other time that I’ve sweat this much while is while Fartlek training on the treadmill.
**Update**
There are workout sheets in the handbook that comes with the DVD’s, but my lovely bride, Becca, used them. I went to the Beach Body message boards and found the PDF file of the workout sheets. Sweetness!!!

Great comment! Oh wait, that’s what I wrote. If you’re just going to come in and regurgitate what I post in order for you to post your link, that ain’t happening.

Dude. I’ve totally been horrible. I was working out every day for an hour until the past 10 days came around. The cruise killed my workout and the beer & 24 buffet killed my flat tummy. I need that three minute crush

Cruises will do that to you. I wonder how many peeps actually use the fitness facilities on those ships.
