10 About Pages to Watch

Ten About pages that you need to pay attention to.

These About pages are pure awesomeness!

Back in July we brought you 10 of the Hottest Fitness Bloggers on Facebook. To my great surprise that post generated a spike in traffic, lots of comments, Retweets on Twitter, etc. That’s exciting stuff to me.

I thought that I’d try something like that again. A post at Blog Tyrant gave me the idea of promoting other people’s About pages.

The best way to get to know a person that you’re taking advice from is to check out their About page.

Depending on how open the author is, you can learn a lot about their back ground, and perspective. For instance, here’s our About page.

The primary reason for having an About page on a website/blog is that it builds trust.

With that said, I present to you a list of some of our favorite Health & Fitness website and blog About pages.

  • World’s Strongest Librarian – No joke, Josh Hanagarne is the world’s strongest librarian. Go head, google it, and see if you can find one stronger. Not gonna find one. This guy will school you on the Dewey Decimal System while bending a nail. Tell me the blue hair at your public library can do that.
  • Zen to Fitness – First of all, this is THE cleanest blog you will ever see. On top of that, Chris offers up some of the best content on the subject of fitness on the interwebs.
  • Marks Daily Apple – What can you say about Mark Sisson? If I’m not mistaken, he is the creator of the Paleo Diet. Well, actually some caveman named Grok is, but Mark is taking the credit. If you’ve heard the term paleo diet tossed around, and want to know more, this is the place to do it.
  • Danny J. Fitness – Danyell, aka Danny, is the first fitness star that I made contact with on Twitter. She’s an amazing lady, and her significant other is a kick too. You can check them both out on Facebook. If you’re looking for a personal trainer, you can’t go wrong hiring Danny J. Fitness.
  • Wii Mommies – As you probably can tell, this blog is about mommies… getting fit… using a Wii. It’s run by one of the coolest people you’ll ever meet, who also runs a cool blog called Momsspective, which is basically Julie unplugged. She’s awesome, and swears like a trucker.
  • Live Fit Blog – Greg is another ‘net friend. Like myself, he’s just your average dude, working to pay the bills, and writing about his fitness passion.
  • The Primal Recipe – Susan Campbell is another friend, serious personal trainer, and another paleo (primal) diet guru.
  • LovingFit – This is a new find for me. LovingFit is another pretty clean blog. Tatianna’s a former gymnast, and seems to really know her stuff.
  • Building Lean Muscle Mass – Matt’s a stud. True, he is an accountant, but he’s not your stereo typical bean counter. BLMM is another clean blog with a lot of great content.
  • Project Swole – Steve is, well he’s a stud. He has a great grasp on what it takes to be fit. His Werewolf Training is nuts, and you’d be nuts not to check it out.

And there you have it-10 seriously cool fitness site About pages. Enjoy!

    @Tatianna & @Greg, You’re very welcome.

@Swole, I understand all to well.

  5. I’m starting to find it hard to believe I was a motivator for three years. My divorce, move and job transition has made me forget everything I preached and I’m a mess. This post should help kick my ass into gear.
