The nutritionist chronicles – Part 4

The following is the fourth installment of my visits with my new nutritionist. We signed on for a 9 visit program, and I will journal about each visit.

After my last visit, I had to get some blood work done. The day of my next visit, I called the doctor’s office to have them fax over my results. I got them, and now I could take this information in so that the nutritionist, could see what is going on. Hopefully this will help to explain what was going on. I didn’t want to have to wait a month before seeing the medical doctor to get anywhere.

After a quick review of the results, it turns out my thyroid levels are low. The kicker is that these were not the normal tests that other doctors have done. These tested the T3 Free, and T4 Free, and both were both low.

My liver tests are high, and my vitamin D levels are low. WOW! This is both good news and bad news. This explains why I haven’t been getting anywhere.

She again hooked me up to the bio-impedance test, and then the scale. I am down a couple pounds, and I think I know why. A couple days before premenstrual time I am a few pounds lighter, then it all comes back on. I will take it while I can.

For now I’ll be sticking to 1100 calories a day, and stay on the bio-cleanse for my liver. She made notes on my blood tests, so the doctor will see her suggestions when I go in. I need to stay off the dairy, and the grains are withheld as well. Beans, fruit, protein, and vegetables.

Hopefully this will change after I see the medical doctor, and get some medicine to straighten out my thyroid, liver, and vitamin levels. She had me do saliva and urine samples for adrenal gland and hormone checks.

The results will not be back for three weeks. I am going to go crazy! I like to see results, and I like to see results fast. I am not one with many patients. I have an appointment with the doctor in four weeks, then an appointment with the nutritionist the following day. So, until we meet again
