Feel great, conquer the world

attitude is everything

There is no doubt that when we feel good about ourselves,  we can accomplish anything.

As with just about every aspect of the human body, there are some miraculous events that occur when we take care of ourselves. There are psychological and physiological effects that make us feel good. When we feel so good about ourselves, confidence becomes apparent. It is at that point that we can accomplish anything that we set our mind to.

Looking for a job in a very competitive market? This could be exactly what is missing. Think about it; if you have been out of work for any length of time, a confidence boost may be just what the doctor ordered.

Paul Anderson of ProLango says, “Job candidates are so focused on getting a job; they become trapped in a poor routine and fail to see all the opportunities around them.”

they become trapped in a poor routine and fail to see all the opportunities

Take care of yourself, and see what doors open up.

On the physiological front, the body produces a hormone called endorphins when we exercise. These hormones make us feel good. During training, the endorphins are released. As training intensifies, the production of the endorphins increases. This is why so many people feel so great after a hard workout. It is why, for some, exercise becomes addictive. They are chasing after what has been referred to in some circles as “runners high”.

Another amazing thing that happens is called “the pump”. During intense exertion of the muscles, such as weight training, the body engorges the muscle with blood. This helps to flush away toxins produced during use, as well as feeding the muscle with oxygen. The feeling of muscle pump is intensely gratifying.

Nutritionally, the body just flat-out operates at its best when we put good fuel in it, the way that a high-performance vehicle does. You would not put 87 octane in a new 430 horsepower Camaro. The same principal applies to the human body. Potato chips are like watered down, winter-grade regular unleaded, whereas a banana would be like 105 octane racing fuel.

Psychologically, we feel good, even proud, when we take care of ourselves. This is the mind’s way of letting the rest of our body know that we care. It really makes sense if you think about it. This helps us to harness the power of our minds.

Scott Smith from MotivationToMove.com says, “When I founded Motivation To Move, I did it largely based on the simple concept that when we can gain control of our thoughts, we not only change our body, we change our entire life!”

when we can gain control of our thoughts, we not only change our body, we change our entire life!”

There is one more aspect that is often forgotten when it comes to health and fitness; sleep. I often refer to it as the missing puzzle piece. Like a ship in dry-dock, when the body is at rest it has the opportunity to repair itself. Not only does sleep help our body to make some fixes from the days use, it helps to prepare the mind and body for the coming day.

There is one more aspect that is often forgotten when it comes to health and fitness; sleep.

A lack of sleep will make you feel sluggish, both physically and mentally. It has been shown that skimping on sleep can lead to bad moods and poor decisions. A good night sleep, generally eight hours, will help you to feel on top of your game. If you can not manage to get eight hours in one night, consider taking a power nap or two during the day. This may not be as good as one solid block of sleep, but it does help.

Do yourself a favor. Do your family a favor. Do the world a favor. Eat right. Exercise. Get a good nights sleep. You never know, success in other parts of your life may be just around the corner.
